Henry Cavill’s return as the Man of Steel could provide the Steel man with a chance of marketing that Justice League failed to grasp. Several events have fueled speculation that Henry Cavill could reprise his role as Superman in the DCEU. In addition to reports that Cavill attended San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, Ben Affleck returned as Bruce Wayne for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, fueling speculation of Cavill’s return.
However, the San Diego Comic-Con speculation circulating about Cavill did not come to fruition, as the hype surrounding the mere prospect of Cavill appearing was undoubtedly the most popular DC topic at the event. However, it all came crashing down when it was reported that Henry Cavill’s Superman would feature in a Black Adam post-credits paving the way for future DCEU projects.

Fans want a team like World’s Finest

When superheroes fell out of favor in the early 1950s, DC downsized the publication to that of the rest of its output, leaving only enough room for one tale; accordingly, starting with World’s Best Comics #71Superman and Batman appeared together in the same story (July 1954).
The title frequently featured Batman gaining superpowers in order to avoid being upstaged by Superman. Lex Luthor and the Joker originally teamed up. Later in #142a new supervillain, the Composite Superman, was introduced (June 1964).

How will Warner Bros. manage to bring back Henry Cavill’s Superman?
The Return of Superman, released in 2006, was the first Superman movie in two decades, and the film’s trailers and marketing emphasized this at every opportunity. The title was an overt reminder that Kal-El hadn’t been seen in a movie theater since Christopher Reeve’s Superman, and the angle taken before its release was one of the folks welcoming a returning hero. Regardless of the commercial underperformance of The Return of SupermanCavill returning as Superman would have a similar pattern that the DCEU could easily follow.

Cavill’s desire to return as the Man of Steel is a continuation of the protracted campaign for the release of the Snyder Cut and ongoing demands for the SnyderVerse to be fully restored.
When and how Henry Cavill reappears as the Last Son of Krypton (a Batman and Superman: World’s Finest interlude tale would be a particularly good choice) ultimately depends on Warner Bros. Discovery. Nonetheless, with obvious excitement for Cavill’s return as Superman. For now, let’s cherish the moment when we finally get Henry Cavill back in the DCEU with a one-on-one with Black Adam, for starters.
