Longtime Marvel horror fans know Man-Thing’s touch causes terror. It turns out that many people are experiencing the heat of social media. marvel’s night werewolf debuted today, and fans have already started sharing their first reactions to the holiday special.
The strange Man-Thing’s MCU premiere, a cult classic in the Marvel library, has been met with universal acclaim. So much so that the character started trending on Twitter. If you’re unfamiliar with the Marvel Comics horror series of the 1970s (and beyond), you might be taken aback by this terrible monster, flashing its huge claws and sprawling head.
It looks like something HP Lovecraftand its past is no less strange – as the monster itself is a chaotic, mindless heap that appears to be anything but human.

What is the Man-Thing in Marvel Comics?
The wobbly, remorseless creature known as the Man-Thing might seem like a normal monster of the week, but it’s not. Also, rather than being a villain, Man-Thing had his solo comic for many years in the 1970s, in which writer Steve Gerber gave the character his unique spin and turned him into a cult favorite.
The origin of Man-Thing is simple: a scientist named Dr. Ted Sallis is working on a classified chemical experiment in the Florida Everglades (later retconned to be another attempt to replicate the infamous super-soldier serum) when he is pursued by villains looking for to steal the formula. Sallis crashes his car into a swamp, where mysterious elements merge with the chemicals he was working on to turn Sallis into the strange thing known as the Man-Thing.

Man-Thing is a slow-moving creature with a knack for foiling various criminal schemes, though he has very little, if any, conscious thought. Gerber coined the phrase “Everyone knows that fear burns on contact with the Man-Thing”, which perfectly sums up another of Man-Thing’s talents – sensing and feeding on fear and other emotions in others. Good people don’t fear Man-Thing because they recognize his inherent decency, but evildoers react with panic – and when they do, his touch (quite literally) burns their flesh.

I totally agree, I thought the movie they made at the start of 200 effects was cool, but in that, they loved it so much.

Along with the impending introduction of Blade, it looks like Marvel is finally embracing its darker, horror-inspired personas, conjuring up a universe of dark magic and gothic leanings to establish a new area of the MCU.
