Scott Moir’s wife: Meet Jacly Mascarin and their baby girl
Before going public with their marriage, Scott Moir and his wife Jaclyn Mascarin kept their relationship a secret for a long time.
The former ice dancer praised his partner during an Olympics press conference, calling her a lovely person. However, Moir’s name was associated with that of Tessa Virtue before news of her engagement was made public.
With Tessa Virtue, he received numerous accolades, including the team gold medal at the 2014 and 2018 Olympics.
They are the first ice dancers to achieve a Super Slam by winning major international competitions in their senior and junior careers. They are widely considered to be one of the greatest ice dance teams of all time.
The world record score for the now defunct original dance belongs to Virtue and Moir.

Who is Scott Moir’s wife, Jaclyn Mascarin?
In June 2022, Scott Moir and Jaclyn Mascarin exchanged vows to become husband and wife.
The COVID-19 outbreak caused a two-year delay in the couple’s marriage, which they eventually lived through.
Prior to getting engaged in 2019, they appear to have been dating for quite some time. He talked about having a skating partner before Virtue, but until they went public, he and Mascarin kept their relationship a closely guarded secret.
According to Tessa and Scott: Our Journey from Childhood Dream to Gold, Moir had ice danced with another girl before working professionally with Virtue.
Moir was Virtue’s first skating partner, and it was through their combined efforts that they eventually achieved worldwide fame.
The 33-year-old Olympic gold medalist took to Twitter after his engagement news broke and sent a lighthearted message asking for a wedding date.
On August 8, 2019, Virtue thanked his fans for their kind words and joked about needing a +1 for Scott and Jaclyn’s impending nuptials.
Moir announced her engagement to Jaclyn Mascarin at the 2019 Canada’s Walk of Fame star ceremony.
After being delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions, the couple married on June 24, 2022.
Scott Moir hopes Tessa Virtue will serve as a role model for his daughter.
Reporter Maya Bagryantseva for Sports.ru said three-time Olympic gold medalist in ice dancing Scott Moir claimed to have a daughter.
Seven months have passed since the baby was born, according to Moir in an interview. From this, it can be deduced that his daughter may have been born in April 2021.
The baby girl is one year old, and as no messages or photos from the father’s private life have been made public, he has been incredibly protective of his child.
Tessa Virtue, with whom he skated as a duo from 1997 to 2018, would have taken Tessa’s place in his fantasies as a model for his kid.
Canadian skater Moir was raised in a family of skaters
Alma (née MacCormack) and Joe Moir raised Moir in Ilderton, Ontario, where he was born into a family of skaters.
His mother first advised him to try figure skating to help him improve in hockey when he started skating at the age of three. He played competitively until he was a teenager.
In 2004, Moir moved to Canton, Michigan in the United States to collaborate with Igor Shpilband and Marina Zueva. And, following the 2014 Winter Olympics, he returned to Ilderton, Ontario.
In Montreal, Quebec, where he moved in 2016, he and Virtue were coached by Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon for the last two years of his amateur career.
His brothers had also skated in the past
Moir, the third and youngest son, has two older brothers named Danny and Charlie. His mother and aunt were coaches, his two older brothers had skated competitively, and he was raised in a skating environment.
His cousins Sheri and Cara Moir competed at the 2007 World Synchronized Skating Championships as members of the Canadian NEXXICE team.
After the 2014 Olympics, Moir finally graduated from high school. He attended AMDEC, an e-learning high school, as well as Medway High School.
Scott Moir’s skating partner, Tessa Virtue
Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir skated together for over 20 years despite claims that they were more than just skating partners.
In PyeongChang 2018, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, two Olympic ice dancers, captured the hearts of the country’s citizens. Because of their relationship on and off the ice, fans kept coming back.
It’s amazing that despite spending over 20 years skating together, they never considered dating. They have had their relationship for many years, which is rather unusual.
It’s no surprise, given their close ties, that they’ve won the most Olympic medals of all time – three gold and two silver – as figure skaters.
Have Tessa and Scott ever dated?
The two were “dating” for a few months holding hands when they were younger, but they were too scared to look at each other!
Even Scott’s aunt knew these two were a match made in heaven at the time, according to The Things.
At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, these two Canadian competitors won gold. Then in 2014, after finishing second to Meryl Davis and Charlie of the United States at the Sochi Olympics, they won silver.
Moir’s coaching career after retiring as an ice dancer
At the end of his professional career, Moir worked sporadic hours as an advisory coach for teams like Lajoie/Lagha.
In addition, he has created choreography for other teams, including Hubbell/Donohue and Fournier Beaudry/Sorensen, as well as solo skater Nicolas Nadeau.
On February 2, 2021, it was made public that Moir had been chosen to serve as the General Manager for the opening of the Montreal Ice Academy campus in London, Southwestern Ontario.
A few days later, it was revealed that USA team members Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko will be training with Moir instead of Igor Shpilband.
Haley Sales and Nikolas Wamsteeker, two Canadian ice dancers, were unveiled as Moir’s second team on June 16, 2021, according to the Montreal Ice Academy.

Retirement of Scott Moir
They made the decision to retire after winning gold in South Korea.
Tessa and Scott made a conscious choice to step away from the ice, but for a long time they couldn’t. They were certain retirement was approaching, but they just couldn’t bear to give up skating together.
They knew how easy it was for them to return as they prepared for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Instead of skating to impress others or because they felt compelled to, they were skating for themselves this time.
After winning gold in South Korea, Tessa and Scott made the difficult choice to end their figure skating careers in order to focus on their lives off the ice.
Moir began a coaching career after retiring from ice dancing.
After his professional career ended, Moir started working with teams like Lajoie and Lagha as a part-time coaching consultant.
Additionally, he has written choreography for other teams and duos, including Hubbell/Donohue and Fournier Beaudry/Sorensen, as well as solo skater Nicolas Nadeau.
On February 2, 2021, it was announced that Moir had been chosen to manage the institution and oversee the opening of the Montreal Ice Academy site in London, Southwestern Ontario. Moir’s prior interactions with the institution led to the discovery of this information.
A few days later, it was announced that Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko, two members of Team USA, would move from their coaching roles under Igor Shpilband to Moir.
Haley Sales and Nikolas Wamsteeker, two Canadian ice dancers, were named Moir’s second team on June 16, 2021. The Montreal Ice Academy provided this information.
