After being resurrected into an aristocratic family, Cid continues to lead the life of a vigilante in the second episode of “The Eminence in Shadow”, titled “Shadow Garden Is Born”. Following his victory over the bandits, he heals a girl who was under a curse and convinces her that she is the descendant of a hero forced to fight against the Devil Cult. Meanwhile, Cid’s sister, Claire, is kidnapped just before he leaves for the royal capital so that she can continue her studies there. The following provides detailed information on the conclusion of the second episode of “The Eminence in Shadow”.

Minoru Kagenou is amazed to discover that he was resurrected as Cid Kagenou in a parallel universe after his death in a car accident. Compared to his life in the past, his life today as a member of the aristocratic family is quite different. Cid, on the other hand, makes the decision to move on with his life as a vigilante, despite training privately and appearing to be a normal person to the outside world. As a result, when he grows up, people will come to regard his older sister Claire as the rightful heiress of the Kagenou family.
Meanwhile, Cid is engaged in a secret fight against bandits. During one of his nocturnal missions, he comes across a living globe of rotting flesh. He realizes that someone is under a curse, and in order to save that person’s life, he performs a series of tests over the course of a few days. He eventually manages to heal the rotting flesh, which results in the creature transforming into a beautiful elven maiden. Cid sees this as an opening and uses it to his advantage to control her. After giving her the name Alpha, he tells her a lie that she is really a descendant of ancient heroes who once fought bravely against the monster Diabolos. He says this after already giving him the name Alpha.
Cid goes on to claim that the Cult of Diabolos is currently plotting to resurrect him and that she must take action to prevent this from happening. Alpha eventually believes what he says, and as a result, he establishes a resistance movement known as the Shadow Garden to fight the cult. After waiting three years, she finally manages to recruit people, and they decide to call themselves the Shadow Seven as a group. Meanwhile, Cid is still working on his skills with his sister Claire, despite never being able to beat her.
Aristocrats are expected that once they reach the age of fifteen, they enroll in the Midgar Academy of the Black Knights located in the royal capital. In addition, Claire has registered there and is preparing to move there to continue her studies. Unfortunately, on the day she was supposed to go to the royal capital, Claire mysteriously disappears from her room without leaving any signs.
It won’t be long before everyone finds out she’s been captured. While Cid’s dad is stunned that someone got to fight Cid’s mom, Cid’s mom is outraged and argues with his dad about the lack of safety precautions. Meanwhile, Cid’s father is angry that someone got to fight her. Cid, on the other hand, isn’t too concerned about the situation and goes to consult Beta, a member of the Shadow Seven, on how they should go about finding her.

End of episode 2 of The Eminence in Shadow: Do Shadow Seven and Cid save Claire from the kidnappers?
Beta, having first realized the situation, finally caught up with Cid in order to talk about the next steps they want to take. Beta informs Cid that a high-ranking Diabolo Cult officer is engaged in the kidnapping, despite the fact that Cid is certain the bandits are responsible for the kidnapping. She claims they kidnapped Claire because they think she’s a descendant of one of the heroes, and that’s why they stole her. The next thing that happens is Beta hands Cid a map and points out all the likely hiding places where his sister has been kidnapped.
Cid thinks their original speculations are incorrect, so he throws a knife at the map to indicate where they should look for the treasure. However, he mistakenly misses the target he intended to hit. Much to Beta’s amazement, Beta is ecstatic and he thinks Cid just put his finger on the head pointing in the direction they weren’t even looking. Beta’s reaction took him by surprise. Shortly after this gathering, the Seven Shadows led an unexpected assault on the hideout.
While this is happening, Claire is interrogated by Viscount Grease, a high-ranking Diabolo Cult. When he starts talking about his brother, Claire breaks free from her chains and rushes at him, only to be knocked down moments later. One of his comrades unexpectedly shows up with the news that the Seven Shadows have launched an assault on the hideout. Despite the fact that the Viscount feels that his troops possess the strength to serve as part of the Royal Guard, these soldiers are currently perishing at an alarming rate before their opponents.
When the Viscount is approached by Alpha and his followers, he engages in a fight for some time, then attempts to escape. Unfortunately for him, he ends up coming into contact with Cid, who mocks his fighting skills before coldly committing suicide without showing any remorse. After breaking free from her bonds, Claire returns home the next day. Her injuries are not life-threatening, and she recovers quickly enough to continue her journey to the royal capital.

The Eminence in Shadow (Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!) is a series of light novels written in Japanese and illustrated by Tzai. The series was written by Daisuke Aizawa. In May 2018, it was made available for reading in installments on the user-generated novel publishing website Setsuka ni Nar. Later, Enterbrain bought the company and has been publishing the series since November 2018.
As of December 2018, the seinen manga magazine Comp Ace published by Kadokawa Shoten publishes a serialization of a manga version of the story, with illustrations by Anri Sakano. A Seta U spin-off manga titled Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! Since July 2019, Shadow Gaiden, also known as “The Eminence in Shadow!” Shadow Side Story,” was made available to read as a series on Comp Ace. This information has been compiled into three tankbon volumes. Yen Press has obtained licenses to publish both the main manga and the accompanying light novel in North America. In October 2022, the opening episode of the anime television series adaptation of Nexus aired.

A young man from modern-day Japan has the ambition to become a mastermind who wields his power in the shadows. However, while training to achieve this goal, he is hit and killed by a truck. He is then reincarnated in a fantasy realm as Cid Kagenou, where he keeps a perfectly average appearance so as not to draw attention to himself and instead pursues his desire to wield power in secret. One day, he comes across an elf girl who is suffering from a strange illness, and he is able to cure her and save her life. Cid concocts a tale in which he explains that this planet is insidiously controlled by the Devil Cult and that his shadowy organization, Shadow Garden, is the only one capable of fighting against them. The elf girl, who we now know as Alpha, becomes a member of this group and immediately proceeds to find additional recruits. However, Cid’s claims are based on real events, but he feels like everything he said is a complete fabrication. Under the guise of Shadow, Cid continues to wage war on the Devil Cult, blissfully oblivious to the fact that he is embroiled in a complex political conflict.
