She was encouraged by her parents to pursue a college education and so enrolled at Florida State University, where she continued to play and also became active in sports, playing tennis and soccer.

Acting career
She was credited with starring in only one film and one television series. In 2010, she portrayed Movie Starlet in the romantic comedy film “New Low”, written and directed by Adam Bowers, who also starred there alongside Jayme Ratzer and Valerie Jones; the film follows a young adult in search of the perfect girl.
Carly’s second acting credit has been in seven episodes of the comedy series ‘Tosh.0’ since 2010, created by Mike Gibbons and Daniel Tosh, and which starred Daniel, TK Kelly and Sam Jarvis – it features Daniel as he comments on things he has found on the Internet.
Carly wrote 86 episodes of “Tosh.0”, and 35 episodes of the detective series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” which starred Andy Samberg, Stephanie Beatriz and Terry Crews, and which was hugely popular as it won 14 awards including two Golden Globes, and was nominated for 107 more – she also wrote the 2019 sports documentary film ‘And Two If by Sea: The Hobgood Brothers’.

Carly and Daniel met in 2010 on the set of “Tosh.0”, and a few days later Daniel asked her out on a date.
