Michael was born to his beloved father, Vic DiPietro, and his late mother, Rebecca, in Windsor, Canada; he lost his mother when he was only five years old.
The athlete lived with only his father until the eldest DiPietro met his stepmother, Assunta Fenty-DiPietro; Assunta was also a widow when she met her husband.
Vic has always been a supportive father who taught him to be a good human being and accept all situations. The father-son duo are best friends who inspire each other.
Likewise, his mother-in-law, whom he calls his mother, loves him too; DiPietro also shared that he was a chubby kid, and she helped him get leaner by introducing him to the salad.
Also, his family is always there in the stands to cheer him on; they always encourage her to follow her heart and never give up. Even when he decided to play a defender’s goalkeeper, they agreed.
However, the Guardian and his family stayed away from social media and remained inactive on Instagram and Twitter.
Michael Dipietro has a brother
DiPietro is Vic and Rebecca’s only child; however, his father’s second marriage blessed him with a half-brother Mark Fenty who is six years older than him.
Mark inspired the athlete to switch to a goalie, as he also played Div. College Hockey III. He fell in love with the position after seeing his brother make a save; he liked the idea that a single block could turn the tide.
However, Fenty did not continue playing the sport professionally and settled down as a architect engineer in Kansas City. Unlike him, Michael is committed to making goalkeeping his current and future job.
