Ryan Coogler talks about the complexity of the connection between Riri Williams and Tony Stark
In a short chat with Indian SuperFans, director, Ryan Coogler, is asked about Riri Williams and her connection to Tony Stark, if any, to begin with. Coogler gave a no answer to this question, not really wanting to put the spoilers, saying there is a connection. He reveals that there is a connection but that it is complicated. Riri Williams is someone who hasn’t faced anything as special as what she’s going to face in Wakanda, as the director admitted. Coogler also adds that she’s an audience surrogate, helping the audience with all the routine of what’s going on. Although in unison with the other characters, Williams is new to the cultures while others are entirely hunted down in Wakanda culture. Coogler also teases that the public will learn a bit about how Williams came to be who she is. [Ironheart].

Riri Williams, 19, will be introduced to a world where her hero, her inspiration, is dead. She will, using her intelligence skills, she designed an armor like Iron Man’s, built with materials she stole from campus. With Tony Stark no longer in the MCU, everything points to Riri relying on Shuri’s advice instead. Dominique Thorne will debut as Riri Williams aka Ironheart, a baffling replacement for Ironman.

Riri Williams, according to the comics, has to go to Wakanda due to a zombie outbreak. What leads her to the location is the only source of defeating the enemy responsible for the zombie outbreak, Eclipse. She locates the source of power in Wakanda with the help of Doctor Strange. While in Wakanda, she meets Shuri, Princess of Wakanda, the youngest child of T’Chaka and Ramonda, T’Challa’s sister and the head of the Wakandan Design Group. The two have a bumpy first meeting but before they part ways, Shuri tells Riri that there would always be a place for her in Wakanda if she ever wanted it.
