At age 6, Malika picked up a racket for the first time.
In her early years, she played tennis at the Académie de Tennis Hérisset-Bordeleau in Quebec, where her father, Sam, was her instructor. Currently, she resides in Montreal.
Malika’s brother, also a tennis prodigy, started playing at an early age. Felix’s first tennis lesson came when he was just four years old. A student at the Hérisset-Bordeleau Tennis Academy in Quebec, he had the opportunity to improve his skills at Club Avantage.
Their father was also the initial coach of their team. Malika’s older brother played for his father, Sam, until he was 13, after which he started working with professional coaches.
The mother ensured that her children remained grounded and motivated despite their growing professional status.
