Rublev was born on October 20, 1997 in Moscow, Russia to his parents, Andrey Rublev Sr and Marina Marenko.
He was named after his father, a professional boxer in his prime but later became a restaurant manager. His mother, Marina, is a tennis coach and plays an important role in Andrey’s career as a professional tennis player.
She has a great reputation in Russia and is currently employed as a tennis instructor at Spartak Tennis Club. She is close friends with several tennis stars, including Anna Kournikova, whom she coached herself. She received the Medal of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland for her commitment to sport in 2009.
Growing up, Rublev had all the necessary facilities to develop his skills. With the help of his mother, he was destined to become one of the most popular and talented tennis players of his generation.
He shares Russian and Austrian ethnicity despite being born and raised in Russia. Through his grandmother Larisa Genrikhovna Rubleva, Rublev can trace his paternal descent to Austria. Andrey Tyurakov, her maternal grandfather, was a professional freestyle wrestler, amateur doubles partner of Boris Sobkin, professional tennis instructor of Mikhail Youzhny, and training partner of Grand Slam doubles winner Olga Morozova.
