Katie Sullivan, the wife of Zemgus Girgensons, is the mother of their two children. Sullivan is the former cheerleader for the University of Pittsburgh football team, Pittsburgh Panthers.
Katie met the love of her life, Zemgus, in June 2012 during her NHL draft in Pennsylvania. Six months later, after their first meeting, the young couple were madly in love with each other and started dating.
In a 2015 interview with Buffalo News, Zemgus admitted to the fact that he watched the Pittsburgh Panthers game only to get a 10-second glimpse of his then-girlfriend, who would be on her cheerleading duties. .
In the same interview, Katie said that although Zemgus watches everything about business on the ice, other than that he’s just like any other guy in his twenties and likes to do normal things.
She even complimented her future husband at the time, saying he was down to earth and no one would know he was a great hockey player if you hung out with him.
Zemgus Girgensons popped the big question to Katie on June 27, 2018, after six years of dating. And it was a big yes from Katie, who flaunted her diamond ring on her Instagram handle, posing alongside her fiancé.
And a year and a month later, Katie and Zemgus tied the knot on July 27, 2019, and are now parents to a pair of adorable children. Katie can be seen time and time again in the stadium cheering on her husband Zemgus and his Buffalo Sabres team.
