We know this article is a bit early to be released since the game is not even out yet and who knows what other content WB Montreal will add to the game. But we insisted on getting a head start on the character possibilities for potential future installments or DLCs in the coming months. Gotham Knights already allows players to embody the four main Batman sidekicks with Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl and Robin (Tim Drake). However, there is still a full roster of Batman Family members that could provide diverse and unique gameplay for a sequel or expansion in the first game. That’s why we’re going to take a look at all 10 members of the Bat-Family we want for Gotham Knights 2.

Damien WayneRobin
Although we already have Tim Drake’s Robin in the first game, there are still a handful of Robins that could create phenomenal gameplay. Notably, Damian’s swordsmanship and bloodlust would also provide intriguing storytelling opportunities as the game begins with the death of Bruce Wayne. Add variety in weaponry with Damian’s signature sword.
Katherine Kane/Batwoman
The Batwoman character has been around for a while now, but didn’t exactly gain the popularity she deserved until she made an appearance in the Arrowverse and as a representative of the LGTBQIA2S+ character collection. from DC. A story could be told in the sequel of Katherine Kane trying to prove herself as the cousin of Bruce Wayne and the sidekicks allowing her to work with them, while remaining skeptical.
Selina Kyle / Catwoman
Arkham City and Arkham Knight allowed players to spend parts of the game as Selina Kyle, little of her gameplay would really need to change. But one interesting aspect would be to see how our heroes react to Bruce Wayne’s former lover as she tries to establish herself as a valuable part of Batman’s life, while trying to trust Catwoman.

Jean-Paul Vallée / Azrael
This entry might be a little long, but Azrael has always established himself as a hero rather than a villain like he did in his earlier appearances. However, after being called by the Order of St. Dumas, it’s a logical step for the character since the Dark Knight is supposed to be deceased. Azrael would love nothing more than to take his place. Azrael has already made an appearance in the game when he introduced himself as a playable character for Batman: Arkham Knight.
Helena Bertinelli / Huntress
Bertinelli could have closer ties with the Birds of prey, but she originally teamed up with Batman. It wouldn’t take much to establish a reason with Huntress, other than that she’s a trusted ally of Batman, and it’s time she joined the team to help protect Gotham City. Equipped with a crossbow, gameplay could include a wide variety of arrows for his weapon that could change combat or stealth.
Terry McGinnis / Batman Beyond
This one might be a bit tricky to do, considering Terry is operating in the future. However, if he was only available as a playable character rather than an add-on campaign, I think we could make something work. Incorporating Terry could become something simple for developers to do, given that the anime series has already provided them with so much content to include in gameplay. Everything from the camouflage system to the detective devices used in the series.
Duke Thomas / The Signal
While Duke Thomas first appeared in 2014, it wasn’t until 2018 that he became another addition to the Bat-family as The Signal. Although many members of the Bat-Family are similar in nature, Thomas brings some unique abilities and equipment to the roster, including Photokinesis, which allows him to manipulate light. As well as Umbrakinesis which allows him to manipulate darkness. Thomas is also equipped with upgraded Esckrima sticks, modified into nunchakus. Much of its gameplay might resemble that of Batgirl, but could still offer players something different.
Stephanie Brown / Spoiler
The villain’s daughter, Cluemaster. Stephanie Brown took on a few characters, including Robin and Batgirl, before settling on Spoiler. The spoiler doesn’t have much of a difference to the Bat Family when it comes to weapons and abilities, but I’m sure the team devs could come up with something new and distinguished for the character. And if not, she could definitely create an exclusive skin for Batgirl.

Cassandra Cain / Orphan
From a family of assassins, being the daughter of Lady Shiva. Cassandra Cain fled her home after witnessing her first murder and made the decision to side with Batman and his allies. Another character with a playstyle similar to the other Knights, she could still be reworked by the developers to provide new gameplay for players to try. Specializing in stealth could open the door to gameplay variations for future installments.
Luke Fox/Batwing
The version of Batwing that we think would work best for this universe should be Luke Fox, rather than David Zavimbe. This Batwing take would be the son of Lucius Fox, who refused to join his father at Wayne Enterprises until he was forced to wear the Batwing costume and began fighting alongside the Bat Family. Now imagine a Tony Stark upgraded Batman suit, that’s what the Batwing suit could be. I could get into the potential of what it might look like, but I think we’ll just let your imagination do it for you.
