The outrageous dream has finally come true, and the Marvel fandom is awash in goodies as Ryan Reynolds returns in his mercenary Deadpool costume with Hugh Jackman’s “Pulverine.” As the Marvel team was mentioned left and right by the dead Pool actor in character, audiences had never really considered the possibility of it ever coming to fruition. The sound of broken hearts got louder after Logan (2017), marking Wolverine’s death and the Aussie’s exit from Foxverse.
But as we now know, Hugh Jackman hadn’t given up on the dream and five long years later, the MCU couldn’t have dreamed of a better wish than to witness his return – that too in Dead Pool 3 of all movies.

But it all started with Hugh Jackman calling the dead Pool actor nearly 4 years ago and later sat down to chat with Marvel President Kevin Feige shortly after Disney acquired 20th Century Fox.
“My first encounter with Kevin Feige when Disney bought Fox years ago, maybe three years ago, or three and a half years, four years, I’m not sure, was to make a movie with the two of us, a movie Deadpool Wolverine And that wasn’t possible back then.
And then Hugh just called at that perfect moment and expressed that he’d be interested in coming back and doing that one more time. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. The two “Merc With a Mouth” wisecracking movies were released in 2016 and 2018, but since then there’s been little to no action progressing on that front outside of the obvious on-screen fake feud. between Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. It will be a treat to see how Feige’s vision for the X-Men in the MCU comes to life in the Phase 6 movie, Dead Pool 3.
Marvel’s Bureaucracy In The Transition From Mutants To The MCU
The conversation about Wolverine entering the mainstream Marvel Cinematic Universe had been going on for 4 years. Granted, a move of this magnitude would require proper timing, smart planning, and strategic placement in the concurrent timeline, but there was still too long to simmer in the pot as MCU continued to deliver a body of quality Phase 4 projects. lower. Ryan Reynolds also claimed that Marvel had to deal with a “lots of paperwork to get there” which in itself indicates the amount of effort that went into his speech to Feige in 2018.
It’s surprising given the market value of Hugh Jackman that it took so long for the President of Marvel to give his final nod. But on the other hand, it’s also understandable that if the project was given the green light after the release of Deadpool 2Marvel wouldn’t have had the patience and structured delivery of smaller projects like those interspersed in their Phase 4 schedule.

The same then goes for Blade which was officially announced as early as San Diego Comic-Con 2019. Jointly stated by Kevin Feige and Mahershala Ali, the project has since been under development and the extended schedule has caused more problems due to the conflict between the creative authorities, conflicts in filming schedules and Ali’s general disappointment with the overall handling of the film’s progress. Feige’s refusal to give the green light to Dead Pool 3 at such a raw time in MCU history (right during Infinity Saga’s conclusion) was a smart move; and now that the universe is back in order, the movie can smoothly ramp up and prepare for a properly scripted mutant-MCU juxtaposition.
Dead Pool 3 will premiere on November 8, 2024.
