One of the toughest action movie franchises is about to return with The Consumables 4 next year on September 23. Most of the OG cast returns with Sylvester Stallone’s Barney Ross leading the way. But this time around we will also see new faces like 50 Cent, Megan Fox, Iko Uwais and Tony Jaa being the most exciting among them. But despite everything, the man who is really the heart of the team is none other than Jason Statham’s Lee Christmas. Ross and Christmas are Iron Man and Captain America of the Expendables. But as the franchise draws to a close, who among them will make the final sacrifice? Well, Sly may have already revealed the answer!
Last of Christmas?
All of the franchises coming to an end these days have created some sort of cliche with their leads and endings. Avengers: Endgame made the bold decision to kill Iron Man even though many predicted that Captain America would be the one to perish. James Bond sacrificed himself in no time to die at the end of Daniel Craig’s term. Zack Snyder was going to kill off Batman in his Justice League 3. John Wick, Ethan Hunt, and Dominic Toretto are all set to die the same way in their upcoming franchise shutdowns. So, following this trend, you would think that Barney Ross could play the game of sacrifice. What if it was Lee Christmas?

Sylvester Stallone recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and he said Jason Statham had a much larger role in what should be the franchise’s final film. Here is what he had to say in particular:
I heard it went pretty well. Jason Statham is at 80%. He is happy with it.
Could his happiness be synonymous with sadness for fans of this man with a knife?

Why Lee Christmas Could Die in The Expendables 4
As many know, this is supposed to be at least a closing film for Stallone. The Expendables is one of the franchises the veteran actor has proudly owned and honed over the years. So, logically, he should get a massive sacrifice game while the leadership slack is passed on at Christmas, because that would secure the future of the franchise. But again, an ending like that became too predictable. So what if Statham being 80% through the movie actually means he’s the only one to perish?

Jason Statham has been in several franchises himself. He moved into The Expendables of The carrier. So there is The mecanic and The Fast and the Furious saga. And right now it’s spinning The mega in a multi-frame thing as well. So I guess one of his franchises could and probably should give him a worthy exit. Ross could mourn the death of his best friend. And after Consumables 4the franchise could get its much-needed reboot with an all-new cast!
