With Black Panther: Wakanda Forever In theaters later this week, Marvel is ramping up marketing for its latest release. Following his appearance in Black Panther: Wakanda ForeverDominique Thorne is set to reprise her role as Riri Williams for a six-episode Stone heart series on Disney Plus. The series, developed by snowdrops writer Chinaka Hodge, is currently filming in Atlanta, Georgia.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever earned $45 million from advance ticket sales and is on track to earn between $355 million and $365 million at the worldwide box office this weekend. The film received positive reviews from critics and sits at 87% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Disney’s official synopsis for the film reads: “In Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers following the death of King T’Challa. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and chart a new course for the kingdom of Wakanda.
Directed by Ryan Coogler from a script he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole, wakanda forever stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta, Martin Freeman and Angela Bassett.
