Dion Dublin Transfer Saga From Norwich to Manchester to Norwich

In August 1988 he moved from Norwich City, where he had played as a central striker, to Cambridge United on a free transfer. Cambridge United used him in the same role.

On August 7, 1992, Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson decided to buy Dublin for £1million after watching him play in a cup game.

It was a record transfer for Coventry City at the time, and it was among the most fabulous sums secured by Manchester United when he was transferred to them in September 1994 for £2million. He was then transferred to Coventry City.

The following year, in 1998, he decided to transfer to Aston Villa for the sum of 5.75 million pounds sterling. He returned to his boyhood club Norwich City in 2006, and after playing for two seasons he finally retired in 2008.
