According to Variety, Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane have signed on to show the This prequel series Welcome to Derby at HBO Max. The project is set to serve as a prequel to the recent It movies, released in 2017 and 2019 and grossing over $1.1 billion.

Details about Welcome to Derby are kept under lock and key, but the series is said to explore the origins of Pennywise the Clown, the main antagonist of the This movies. The character was played by Bill Skarsgård but his involvement in the series is unconfirmed at this time.
