The hugely popular films revolving around Indiana Jones are one of the most beloved films of all time. These films have created quite a fan base as they know how to fuse adventure and action to create an entertaining ride for the viewers. The series has four films under its belt, with the fifth set to be released in 2023.
While many thought the fifth episode was the last they would see from archaeologist Indiana Jones, that may not be the case. Even though the fifth untitled addition will be the final installment in the film series, the franchise is currently in talks to continue its legacy on streaming sites. Disney+ could release an Indiana Jones TV show.

Will the adventures of Indiana Jones continue?
According to Variety, The Mouse House and Lucasfilm are considering taking on the streaming platform, Disney+, as Indiana Jones’ next adventure. That means there’s a very real possibility that the fifth movie won’t be the last Indiana Jones fans will see. However, no official report has yet been released.
Apparently, the company is still looking for a writer for the said TV series, which is why no plot details can be shared at this time. However, it’s interesting to think about the direction the franchise is going next. Whether the series is a spin-off or a prequel to Indy’s life as a famous globetrotter is a mystery. It’s also possible that the series is somehow connected to the latest Indian Jones movie.
If the idea comes to fruition, it won’t be the first time Indy has been seen on small screens. In 1992, ABC released two seasons The Chronicle of Young Indiana Jones. The franchise also aired four television specials on The Family Channel, now known as Freeform.
It’s no shock that Disney wants Indiana Jones to continue its legacy since the four films in the franchise have grossed over $1 billion worldwide, collectively. The Indiana Jones movie series has certainly made a lot of money. Streaming the TV series on Disney+ might be the right direction to go as Marvel TV projects have gained immense popularity through the streaming platform.

Although Harrison Ford has done an incredible job of penetrating the hearts of movie fanatics, unfortunately it might be time for him to hang up the Indy hat and say goodbye to the franchise. During the Lucasfilm panel at D23, he revealed that the fifth film would be his final run in the series stating, “That’s it …! I won’t fall for you anymore.
This led fans to ponder the question – Who is the next Indiana Jones? While many fans believe the TV series being talked about will focus on young Indiana Jones, many have their own cast in mind. From Chris Pratt to Harry Styles, many actors have weighed in on fan discussions.
On the one hand, viewers are excited to see who the next Indiana Jones will be, while on the other hand, fans are worried that the TV series is going a bit too far, accusing Disney of milking popular franchises until get the public fed up. . Fans even vouched for an animated series instead of the live-action, with Ford voicing the archaeologist.

If the live-action TV series becomes a reality, it would be interesting to see how it manages to live up to fan expectations. There’s no doubt that all four movies released set the bar high in the sky, with the fifth addition set to raise it even higher. It will certainly be a difficult task if the TV series is to become a hit with fans.
The fifth Indiana Jones movie will hit theaters on June 30, 2023.
