Three new images of James Cameron Avatar: The Way of the Water bring the audience back to Pandora.
A new Avatar: The Way of the Water The trailer debuted earlier this month, kicking off the final phase of the highly anticipated film’s marketing campaign. Now, Total Film has released three never-before-seen images from The way of the water, showing the return of the big bad Colonel Quaritch (Stephen Lang) and other Na’vi characters from the film. As recently reported, The way of the water has a run time of approximately 3 hours and its 10 minutes, making it 28 minutes longer than the original Avatar film, released in 2009. This length also makes it James Cameron’s second longest film to date, behind 1997’s Titanic.
“Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), the troubles that follow them, the lengths that they went to protect each other, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure,” according to Disney’s official synopsis for the film.
Directed by James Cameron from a script he co-wrote with Josh Friedman, The way of the water stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi and Kate Winslet.
