James Gunn introduced a bunch of new characters to the DCU with his perspective The Suicide Squad. While most of them perished, some survived and are set to return in future DC projects. Peacemaker already has his personal space on HBO Max and it will continue to rock in the future as well. But what about Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Ratcatcher 2 and, more importantly, King Shark? When will they come back? Will he even come back or will it be another Killer Croc storyline? Well, Sylvester Stallone left us with a promising statement.
Sylvester Stallone wants to voice King Shark again
King Shark was definitely James Gunn’s cutest and deadliest character. The Suicide Squad. Gunn is an expert at making us care for his CGI humanoid animals and plants and Nanaue was a great product of that. And getting Sly Stallone to voice him was another great move because the comedic element of the character was totally enhanced with him. Now Stallone has confirmed he wants to come back for more.

In an interview with ComicBook.comHere’s what the Rambo actor had to say when asked about returning as King Shark:
“Yeah sure. I think James has been very generous… Him and I are quite close. So if there’s an opportunity… I love him, he’s great.
Well, we would also like to see more of it. And now that James Gunn is in charge of DC’s future projects, we can be sure that one of his greatest creations is sure to be back for more.
Where King Shark Could Return
But what is Nanaue’s status right now? He was able to escape the clutches of Amanda Waller by The Suicide Squad. And Peacemaker The ending of season 1 also casts doubts on Suicide Squad 3. So where will King Shark return? He struck up a new friendship with Ratcatcher 2, so maybe these two could be back for new adventures in an HBO Max series as DC’s Rocket and Groot.

It should also be noted that black adam showed us Amanda Waller’s huge underwater prison. So she could revive the Suicide Squad or sanction a new team like Checkmate at any time. And someone like Nanaue aka King Shark could come back in this project because maybe Waller grabbed him one more time and locked him in one of those jail cells in his underwater prison.
But the most ideal place for King Shark’s return would be in a Justice League vs Suicide Squad event where he’ll take on Aquaman. It’s obvious that Arthur would manage to defeat him easily, but the prospect of their battle looks quite interesting. Maybe we’ll have a King Shark surprise in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Don’t count this idea just yet!
