Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson addresses the controversy behind the heated war between Marvel and DC. The rivalry between the two franchises is nothing new, and fans know it very well. The rocks black adam The movie was released less than a month ago, leading the new era of DC movies.
The film is Johnson’s longtime passion project, and bringing his character Adam Teth to life was like conveying a new force to be reckoned with. Black Adam will soon face Superman, as seen in the film’s post-credits, but it’s not just the Man of Steel that Black Adam faces.

Black Adam’s Dwayne Johnson Talks Marvel and DC Rivalry
Johnson has been asked several times if there’s any beef against Marvel Studios. The actor gave a candid and clear “Nope” but people are still adamant to find out more. When he appeared on iHeartRadioThe Rock spoke about the controversial competition between Marvel and DC.
“And I’ve been asked this question a lot. Are we going after… When I talk about the new era of the DC Universe with Black Adam, are we going after Marvel? That’s what I mean by that? The answer is no. We’re not going to do that, and there’s no “war” between DC and between MCU.”
Johnson professed his love and admiration for the folks at Marvel Studios, but he also stood firm with his intent to “build the dc world” and become their own brand.
“Kevin Feige, I love him. He’s a buddy and a lot of these guys, all of them by the way, all of these superheroes are all my friends and I’m very happy for them. But there is only one Marvel. There is only one Avengers. But also there is only one DC. And there’s only one Black Adam, and there’s only one Justice League, and there’s only one JSA. And so, I want to keep building the DC world. I don’t want to be like Marvel, and I say that respectfully. I want to be DC. I want us to be our own brand and our own identity.”
The actor also revealed that they’ve already laid the groundwork for Black Adam for the Justice Society of America, and he thinks this will ease the road as they “Using in a new era of DC Universe.”

Johnson does not believe there is a rivalry between the two franchises. In fact, he wanted the two studios to collaborate in the future”as we did in the fightJohnson remarked. Interestingly, the actor isn’t the only DC person who yearns for such a partnership. James Gunn, the new CEO of DC Studios, also hinted at a crossover between The Suicide Squad and guardians of the galaxy in the future.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever recently had its world premiere, and over the weekend it’s already grossed $330 million, almost the same installment as black adamworld’s income after more than three weeks.
Much like most of Johnson’s interviews regarding said studio rivalry, he remains hopeful about the future of DC movies as well as the success of Marvel movies.
