But this time, the only limit to the project was the main reason why his next film Spectrum bombarded. Mendes said:
“These films are very difficult to write. These 10 months of [for Skyfall]that’s when the script really flipped, because we had time to go down dead ends and try things like the [Bond/Silva team-up]. And that time wasn’t given to me when we did Spectre, and you can see the difference in the script.
Although Spectrum proved to be a box office success, the main reason it is not held in high regard is due to public dissatisfaction with the film. James Bond films have a reputation for being some of the best-written and best-executed stories of any series in the industry, but with Spectrumthey dropped the ball from quite a distance.
