‘It’s full steam ahead’: Stranger Things creators reveal Netflix execs ‘cried’ after final season plotline despite Deadpool 3 director and producer Shawn Levy threatening boycott

The Netflix series, stranger things, gradually became a mass sensation after launching its journey in the summer of 2016. The show’s young roster of kids became more educated in the experience after encountering the multitude of doomsday threats. However, somehow audiences seem unwilling to let go of what was once a simple 1980s life in suburban Indiana, even with the show and its cast going international.

Now the final event is upon us and the worst imaginable future is here. As stranger things 5 put on their racing boots, the Duffer Brothers are giving their fans a taste of what’s to come.

In a two-hour meeting with Netflix executives Matt and Ross Duffer, creators of the original series stranger things shrewdly announced that they have now reached the beginning of the end. As they read the completed first draft of their Season 5 pilot episode, the brothers noticed the heartache of the separation and the goodbyes manifesting as tears on the leaders’ faces. During a Los Angeles panel discussion in Hollywood, the Duffer brothers further revealed,

“We delivered the first scenario a few weeks ago and we are on the second. It’s full steam ahead… We made our leaders cry, which I thought was a good sign that those leaders were crying. The only other times I saw them cry was like during budget meetings.

While it might be accepted as a token of consummate songwriting for the Duffer Brothers to have even the industry’s toughest decision-makers sniffle down their sleeves after a 2-hour conversation, audiences, on the other hand, are petrified as to what it could mean for the fate of their beloved heroes. Season 4 has had some terrifying escapades so far, with some succumbing to the finality of death. As tragic as they are, these harrowing storylines managed to make the long 3-year wait worth it after Season 3 debuted in 2019.

As the crowd now patiently awaits Season 5, the Duffer Brothers bask in the glory of their grand plans and reveal very little about what to expect from the upcoming war.

The Duffer Brothers were visibly excited to continue their Season 5 storyline when the LA Panel appeared. But even as they realize the magnitude of the event that awaits them, the brothers also look at where they came from and how they began a tale that would snowball into a phenomenon revered by millions.

“I remember the first season, we were just amazed that Netflix let us do this at all, but season two was when we really, with the writers, we developed an overall plan and a backstory for all of this and we made sure that, with the Upside Down, everything about what it was…

But we still have a little more to do. But just as important as the supernatural, we have so many characters now – most are still alive – and it’s important to wrap up these arcs. A lot of these characters have grown since season one, so it’s a balancing act between giving them time to complete their character arcs and work out the details and do our final reveals.

Shawn Levy, Hollywood director, and stranger things producer who has been attached to the supernatural show since its very genesis added to the comments saying,

“As a witness and having been in this two hour presentation room and having read this first script – I am paralyzed with the fear of spoiling anything, but I will say the thing about these Duffer Brothers is that even though the show has become so famous and the characters have become so iconic and there’s so much about the 80s and the supernatural and the genre, it’s about those people, it’s about those characters. Season five already deals with those character stories so clearly because that’s always been the cornerstone of Stranger Things.

So far, the Season 5 storyline would pay homage to its predecessors by adding elements from all of its previous seasons. Even though the new season stays true to its narrative and moves forward with the narrative and the war on Hawkins, the Duffer Brothers simultaneously want to make sure they get to go back a bit to the beginning” in honor of all they have achieved and as a marker of nostalgia for the audience who have come to love the show so much.

stranger things Season 1-4 is now streaming on Netflix.
