Lindsay Lohan returns to acting after a decade-long hiatus
In an exciting update on Netflix, viewers and subscribers got a rare glimpse of 2000s diva Lindsay Lohan in a Netflix original Christmas movie. With the array of Christmas rom-com treadmills flooding the home navigation page in November, it’s become somewhat routine to spot the iconic snow and pine vignette. However, what looked like a fish out of water was the red-haired star who nearly fell into oblivion from public memory after disappearing from the public spotlight nearly 10 years ago.

At the end of the third quarter of each year, the streaming juggernaut borrows an essence of Christmas cheer from Hallmark, the channel that essentially owns the holidays on television. This year, the holiday spirit kicks off in mid-November with Lindsay Lohan’s soft launch into the modern world of film and streaming. As she dips her toes in the pool, Lohan recalls the more simplistic days of her career which lasted nearly 8 months of filming rather than the now-prevalent 6-week shoot and preferred to shoot on location rather than in front of a green screen.
Lindsay Lohan wants to expand her MCU filmography
With a slow start after Fall for Christmas, Lindsay Lohan is aiming higher than she has strived to achieve in her short but successful years in the film industry. Although ambitious from the start, the actor-singer found the career constraining and overexposed himself in the media. After his decade-long respite in the Middle East, Lohan returns with renewed vigor to acting. And one of the first things she wants to get involved in is the Marvel franchise.
“The one thing I haven’t done that I would really like to do is step into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s my dream.”

But the fandom doesn’t have it. Famous for her redhead look, Lohan was immediately associated with X-Men’s Jean Gray or the villainous Typhoid Mary. While one faction of the Twitter mob doubts Lohan’s casting as one of those infamous Marvel characters, the rest are head over heels in love with the iconic personality of the mean girls actress and is ready to advocate for entry into the MCU.

The populated expanse of the CBM franchise allows countless players to constantly hop on and off the platform. Lindsay Lohan’s “dream” as such doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch to achieve, especially given her iconic status among the masses. Marvel’s obsession with star power in movies, as we recently saw in Doctor Strange 2 and She-Hulk led to a qualitative drop in content in favor of an ensemble cast that can rush for a quick appearance. It wouldn’t be surprising, then, to feature Lindsay Lohan as a short-lived variant of a character, or sign her up for a cameo as herself, in the future MCU slate.
Fall for Christmas is now streaming on Netflix.
