When someone says “Johnny Depp,” there might be only a handful of people who don’t immediately think of his iconic role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean. The actor has won a place in the hearts of viewers, as they all loved his goofy version of the pirate. Much to the disappointment of fans, Johnny Depp will never be seen as the lovable pirate again, after the defamation lawsuit.
Although there must be many incidents that Johnny Depp remembers from his time on the sets of Pirates of the Caribbean, there’s a scene where he couldn’t help but cringe as he remembered. Well, the scene in question is none other than the kiss he shared with Keira Knightley who played Elizabeth Swann in the movies. According to him, the age gap was simply too great.

An awkward kiss for Johnny Depp
In an interview with Evening Standard, Johnny Depp said that while it’s always quite embarrassing to kiss someone you’re not in love with, it turned out to be much more awkward with Keira Knightley. It was because the actress was two decades too young for her age. Knightley was 21 when filming Dead Man’s Chest took place, when Depp was 42 years old. That’s a hell of an age gap!
“The fact that Keria was twenty-something years younger than me made things infinitely more awkward. Still, she was a good sport about it and we did what we had to do.

“I couldn’t ask for a better fuck scene with Johnny Depp in fact I think my 14 year old self was screaming with pleasure. It was fantastic! What more can a girl ask for? I have Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom and I can kiss them both. That’s wonderful!”
She even chose Depp over Orlando Bloom when asked to pick the best kisser, saying, “Johnny Depp certainly wasn’t bad. It’s safe to say the two pulled opposite things off the stage!

Will Johnny Depp return as Jack Sparrow?

Depp’s return as Jack Sparrow seems highly unlikely because he made it very clear. The actor isn’t very happy with the studios after they fired him from the franchise, due to the defamation lawsuit. On the other hand, it was then reported that Disney wanted to make amends with the actor. According to the report, Disney offered him $300 million to return as Jack Sparrow for a few more movies.
However, Depp’s rep has debunked all of these rumours. In a statement to NBC News, the rep revealed the report was made up and there was no truth to it. Looks like fans should give up any hope they have of the actor returning. After all, Depp himself said he wouldn’t be returning to the franchise, not for $300 million or a million alpacas.
