There are plenty of reasons why the DC Universe has made a significant shift towards directing and producing movies about (or involving) characters from different parts of DC lore, and not necessarily just Justice League. . This marks a big step towards expanding the DCU beyond the focus of the mighty superhero team.
The reasons for the change range from the off-screen issues that Ezra Miller (who plays member JL Flash) brought on behalf of Warner Bros, to the development of plans to allow more characters into the DCU movies. . While Pierce Brosnan’s Doctor Fate, along with others, is part of the DCU’s JSA, two other characters would also have been added.

Mr. Terrific and Hourman would be the latest DCU additions
With the release of black adamDwayne Johnson brought one of DC’s strongest characters to life in the eleventh DCU movie.
Along with the addition of Teth Adam came various other Justice Society of America (JSA) characters such as Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Atom Smasher (Noah Centino), and Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell) .
Brosnan’s portrayal of the wizard Doctor Fate was one of the most anticipated additions fans were eager to see in Black Adam. Now it’s rumored that the DCU is planning to add two more characters in future movies, and yes, they’re from the JSA too.
DC shovel @LookUponTheStawho also directs @homeofdcu on Twitter reports that two new characters are being added to the DCU’s version of the JSA. Supposed additions are Hourman and Mister Terrific.

This clearly marks a move away from making movies based on Justice League characters, and instead towards characters that reside in different parts of DC lore. However, this is just a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt.

James Gunn Teases DCU-Rumored Mister Terrific on Twitter, Fans Go Crazy

But a Twitter post from newly appointed DC Studios co-head James Gunn is sure to convince fans that the character is indeed making his way into the DCU’s Justice Society.

This fan wants the focus to be on the much more popular DC characters –
Yeah. Let’s leave out the popular characters and focus on the characters that won’t be able to wear their movies. The MCU didn’t start with unknown characters. If we want to copy them, let’s focus on the main characters first, then move on to the lesser-known characters.

If James Gunn is serious about Mister Terrific, there could definitely be plans brewing behind the scenes that see a future where the character could get a standalone movie or at least a TV series!
The latest version of DCU, black adam is currently available for viewing in theaters.
