Ironheart’s introduction of Riri Williams played by Dominique Thorne to the Marvel Cinematic Universe changed the course of the franchise with a new perspective on Iron Man’s legacy. Iron Man’s legacy lives on in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Patriot and now with Ironheart. Robert Downey Jr. left a major impact on fans and those who adore the character. Riri Williams, a 19-year-old MIT student, can dazzle Shuri with her engineering prowess. Although she’s only just beginning to fill the void left by Iron Man, she’s already made a name for herself.
“A castmate on Ironheart had actually done a show with him and hooked us up, and he had some nice words to say about how much he believed Riri Williams is and should always be his own person, his own thing. That this legacy is going in the right direction and all the nice encouraging things you hope to hear from Iron Man himself.
Dominique Thorne became the iconic character and it wasn’t until later that she had the opportunity to meet Downey. Her role as the next face of Iron Suits became a hit among fans.

Thorne only met the actor who plays Tony Stark after filming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was almost finished. This allowed the young actor to take his angle for the character, which led to his success. Unbound by the values and stories of Iron Man and his journey, Riri Williams can create her version of what could soon be Ironheart’s future.
The upcoming show of the same name is said to be exploring the character even further, as Dominique Thorne said what was seen in his latest film only scratches the surface of what the character is capable of. With Iron Man no longer a future part of the franchise, Riri Williams’ character has a lot of responsibility and expectations to live up to.
