David Harbor does double duty for Netflix stranger things and Marvel Love at first sight.
While promoting his new action flick violent nightDavid Harbor has revealed he’s set to work on new installments of two of his most important franchises in 2023. Netflix’s final season stranger things goes into production around the same time as Marvel’s Love at first sight, which will require Harbor to work on both projects simultaneously. Both productions are based in Atlanta, Georgia, which makes things a little easier for the actor.
“Yeah, next year is going to be a really tough year for me in terms of the schedule,” Harbor told Collider. “It’s going to be crazy. These are two things that I love. I like both [Red Guardian and Hopper] a lot.”
“It’s going to have to be a back and forth with me. They’re going to have to kind of share me,” the actor continued. “And so it’s kind of like, I don’t know exactly how they work, but it’s a week, a week off, two weeks, two weeks off, something like that where I’d go back and forth. They’re both shot in Atlanta. That might have been structured a certain way too, but yeah, it’s helpful. So, I can literally shoot a scene in Stranger Things and get in my car and run to the Marvel scene to shoot a scene there maybe.
It’s great to hear that Netflix and Marvel were able to work together to allow David Harbor to return as Jim Hopper on stranger things and as Red Guardian on Love at first sight. They are arguably his two best-known characters, so not seeing him again would have been disappointing.
The last season of stranger things doesn’t have a release date yet, but is expected to hit Netflix in 2024. Meanwhile, Love at first sight is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
