Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which was Marvel Studios’ final Phase Four movie, was a big hit at the box office. The film deals with the loss of the king of their nation Wakanda, after the unfortunate death of Chadwick Boseman. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the sequel to Black Panther (2018) was quite the big Phase Four ending, much-loved by fans and critics alike.
Whether it was the excellent plot and character depth, or the bereavement of Boseman that allowed fans to have such an emotional connection to the sequel, black panther 2 marked the history of Marvel and could probably rock Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness by being the highest-grossing Marvel film of 2022.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Could Be The Highest-Grossing Marvel Movie Of 2022
While 2022 didn’t seem quite the year for Marvel at first, the release of Doctor Strange 2 and black panther 2 showed all the potential to turn the situation around. Benedict Cumberbatch with Doctor Strange 2 did a stellar job that earned the film $800 million on the worldwide ticket, second only to Spiderman: No coming home. The film set a milestone that could very well be reached by the release of black panther 2.
Whereas black panther 2 missed beat Doctor Strange 2 from $6 million in domestic gross on opening weekend, the film only showed a 63% drop in week two. Apparently the film’s 10 days of earnings are catching up with the second solo release of Doctor Strange 2. If the hype continues, black panther 2 could soon become Marvel’s highest-grossing film.

Fan and critic reactions to the film are quite positive with a fair amount of reviews. The film’s audience score on Rotten Tomatoes is 95%, surpassing Doctor Strange 2 and Thor: Love and Thunderalso from Marvel Studio’s Phase Four.
Black Panther 2 reasons to succeed
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been quite a name in recent days from Marvel Studios. The recently released film has achieved great success in such a short time.
The film deals with the loss of their king T’Challa, after which his sister Shuri becomes the new Black Panther. The film also features Tenoch Huerta as Namor, who acts as an antagonist to the nation of Wakanda. Director Ryan Coogler was highly praised for giving depth to Namor’s character rather than just naming him as the villain, despite the lack of original material on him in the comics.

The film’s cast of black people, along with the portrayal of strong female characters in the lead, breaks down the walls of racism as well as patriarchy in one go. Plus, Shuri being T’Challa’s successor as the next Black Panther indicates just how slowly, but steadily, the nation of Wakanda is ready to move on.
The film’s mid-credits reveal T’Challa’s son with Nakia, which could be quite the opener for a possible Black Panther 3.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now in theaters worldwide. Doctor Strange 2 is currently streaming on Disney+
