A new design concept shows Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien as the successor to Ezra Miller’s The Flash.
Ezra Miller, who has played Barry Allen AKA The Flash in the DC Extended Universe since 2016 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, made headlines due to legal issues. The actor was first arrested for disorderly conduct in late March, and was arrested a second time for second-degree assault in mid-April, among other disturbing reports. However, Miller is still committed to the role of The Flash, despite a recent rumor that claimed Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien would reprise the role.
Dylan O’Brien, best known for his roles in MTV Teen Wolf series and The maze Runner film franchise, is a common choice among comic book fans for certain fan castings. Years ago, O’Brien expressed interest in reprising the role of Spider-Man after Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios agreed to reboot the character after Andrew Garfield underperformed. Whether or not Ezra Miller is replaced as The Flash, many still hope to see Dylan O’Brien appear as a superhero in any comic book movie in the near future. In particular, some DC Comics fans see him as a potential candidate as Nightwing, another character than the Teen Wolf star was rumored to play.
Besides Ezra Miller, the flash also features Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two distinct versions of Batman, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul, and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso and Luke Brandon Field are also on board in undisclosed roles.
