Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was a film that really touched us. It was a nice way to pay homage to Chadwick Boseman. The film portrays the emotions well and gives us some memorable quotes which we will list.
1. T’Challa is dead, but that doesn’t mean he’s gone. – Queen Ramonda
This quote perfectly sums up the essence of the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. On the anniversary of the death of the late Wakandan ruler and Black Panther, Queen Ramonda speaks these words to her daughter Shuri. She shows once again how wise she is. Shuri is unable to process her brother’s death and is in a state of repression and denial. While saying these words, Queen Ramonda reminds Shuri of the difference between death and absence. T’Challa may be dead but his presence will always remain. His memories will be passed on by both Queen Ramonda and Shuri. In fact, even the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a tribute to Chadwick Boseman and will forever remain his legacy.
2. My ancestors often said that only the most broken people can be great leaders. – Namor
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever once again gives us a very complex villain worthy of their title. Namor said this line when he was talking to Shuri. They both connected on a much deeper level and shared each other’s grief. He also hinted that Shuri would be a great leader because of all the losses she suffered. After all, suffering and pain make people wiser, but not always.
3. Vengeance has consumed us. We cannot let it consume our people. – Shuri
There was no better way to end the film. This quote was basically the result of the two and a half years of our emotional struggle that the on-screen characters went through. Shuri was finally able to let go of her anger and see clearly once again. She realized that revenge was not worth it if thousands of people lost their lives for it. In fact, this is when Shuri truly deserves the title of Queen of Wakanda and Black Panther.
4. Are you going to be noble like your brother or take care of business? – Killmonger
It was something we here at Wiki of Nerds predicted. After Shuri ingested the synthesized herb in the shape of a heart, she met Erik Killmonger in the astral plane instead of his brother. We definitely agree with Erik Killmonger when he said her need for revenge is exactly why she met him instead of her brother. The astral plane could be a mirror of your desires. He encouraged her desire for revenge and even went so far as to mock her.
5. I am the queen of the most powerful nation in the world! And my whole family is gone! Didn’t I give it my all? – Queen Ramonda
There was nothing more satisfying than watching Queen Ramonda let go of her anger, frustration, sadness and grief all at once during the council meeting. She bellowed the lines above and the raw emotion in her voice left goosebumps in the audience during Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Despite everything she tried to keep together, to be strong and to have a straight face, she couldn’t take it anymore. Losing Shuri to Namor was the last straw.
6. If I sit and think about my brother for too long, it won’t be these clothes that I’ll burn, it will be the world. – Shuri
Shuri and her emotions were definitely a big part of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Throughout the two and a half hours, we pretty much see Shuri go through the various stages of grief, from sadness and anger to denial and finally acceptance. Namor tries to take advantage of his rage and anger to wreak havoc on the surface world, but Shuri soon realizes the errors in his ways. Throughout the film, her anger is actually just a facade by which she avoids facing pain and grief.
7. The world has taken you too far for you to still be considered a child. – M’Baku
M’Baku has become one of the best supporting characterss with his redemption arc and loyalty to Wakanda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. He no longer sees Shuri as a child and acknowledges her growth. He realizes that her tragedies and losses have made her stronger, wiser, and better able to lead than anyone else. This line showed that M’Baku is also a gentle human being who can empathize with people who really matter to him.
8. I gave everything. Let me die serving my country! – Okoye
Okoye really won our hearts with this quote in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It just shows how fiercely loyal she is to Wakanda and how protecting her people is the only goal she has in life. When Queen Ramonda scolded Okoye for losing Shuri, you could see Okoye was visibly shaken. Tears pooled in her eyes as she was fired from the Dora Milaje.
