The latest studies conducted by scientists in the United States have found that the patients have mild symptoms but the analysis has been done on a very small set of infected persons.
The Omicron Infected Patients Are Experiencing Mild Symptoms
SARS-Cov-2 Omicron variant was reported by the World Health Organization. The mutants which are carried by the omicron variant can be harmful and will spread very fastly. It carries 50 mutants and out of which 32 can spike the proteins.
The major concerns which are bothering the vaccine developers and health care experts in the United States are the effectiveness and efficiency of the 2 dose vaccination on the omicron variant.
It has been claimed by the state health officials and The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that out of the 43 cases of individuals infected by the new omicron subtype of the covid 19 have been from vaccinated people.
Now after such analysis, the questions are being raised on the authenticity and credibility of the vaccine to fight against the covid 19 omicron variant.
There is only one hospitalization case and the good part is that no death has been reported from the omicron strain in the United States.
Out of 43, around 20 confirmed cases have been found in New York City and the state government has been stating that the chances of community spread are very high and this is the wake-up call for the people to stay safe at home and not to travel unnecessary.
NYC Governor, Kathy Hochul has suggested all the healthcare agencies in the state increase the vaccination rate and encourage more eligible adults to avail of the booster shots as soon as possible.
As per the CDC, the government has activated the prevention plan, which includes vaccination, proper masking for the outdoor and indoor gatherings, strict quarantine in case of infection or mild symptoms.
As per the CDC Covid Response team, the cases which have been found in the United States are majorly influenced by international and domestic traveling. Also, the CDC is expecting a major surge in the omicron variant cases in the other parts of the nation in the upcoming weeks due to the rise in travel, as more people will be visiting their homes this Christmas Festive season.
The gatherings will allow the covid 19 virus to spread more and currently, the delta variant has been a major risk for the entire population in comparison to the omicron variant. According to the CDC reports, almost 99 percent of the Covid 19 cases in the United States are from the delta variant and the country has surpassed more than 120,000 daily average cases.
More than 75 percent of the omicron cases have been detected from the fully vaccinated and in some cases, they were not even eligible for the booster shot and some even received the booster shots a few weeks ago and now the vaccine and the booster shots are under the scrutiny.
