The delta variant has been the most lethal version of the Covid 19 which consists of almost more than half of the total infected citizens in the United States. Also, due to this variant, more than 300,000 people lost their lives in the US and it is a very big number.

Not only the general public, but the healthcare workers were also under the radar leaving behind thousands of dead medical care staff.

Doctors, nurses, and other hospital personnel who have tested positive for COVID can now return to work after a few days. This decision was very important due to the high demand for staff during the winter surge of cases.

According to some news, the worst affecting state is the omicron variant in New York where the positivity has become more than double affecting thousands of healthcare workers and security staff like police and guards.

The cases of covid 19 infection have seen a surge of 2 times amongst the police staff in New York. Many medical experts have been claiming that we feel paralyzed. The doctors and other staff have been completely drained physically. The mental level has reached the saturation point where they don’t have much power to treat completely.

The CDC issued these guidelines for asymptomatic health workers. If the worker’s test results are negative after seven days, then they can return to work.

Currently, the Omicron variant accounted for nearly 73 percent of all COVID cases in the United States, and it is the most widely spread variant. The number of cases in the country is roughly doubling every two days. In some days it will be the dominant variant in the United States but less lethal than the delta version of covid 19.

These guidelines were issued as officials are concerned about the increasing number of cases and the rapid spread of the Omicron variant. The demand for the medical staff is also expected to rise in some weeks due to the wave.

As per the medical researchers and Scientists, the Omicron variant shows mild symptoms, but it is more transmissible and spreads quickly among vaccinated people as well because of the high number of mutations available in this new strain.

The healthcare agencies in the United States are suggesting every eligible adult avail the benefits of booster shots as it can prevent the spread of Omicron.

As the number of Omicron cases in the United States has increased, frontline workers are becoming exhausted from repeating the same day. Now, hospital staff absences have tripled this month due to the increasing number of cases amongst them. The hospitals have asked the government to intervene and help them in reducing the stress level caused by this variant.
