For this reason, many quarrels between the politicians, educators as well as parents were seen.

With the New Year coming in, the holiday season is over. This means that students are back in town after spending their holidays in their hometown and other places. The same applies to the teachers.

Almost 162 towns of Connecticut have been declared as red zones for the Coronavirus. By opening educational institutes in such places, the risk of the spread of the virus would only go higher.

There has to be a pause in offline learning, and the educational institutes should switch back to remote learning as they did at the start of the virus. Once the situation seems to be in control, the mode of offline learning can continue.

Baker, the Governor, mentioned during his visit to Saltonstall School that there would be a lot of schools that are going to reopen after Sunday in Massachusetts. This shows how hard the people at the commonwealth are working so that the kids would be able to return to schools in offline mode and get the knowledge that they deserve.

Even Tom Moore states that if there is no in-person teaching, it would be a great loss to the students. He even mentioned that the mode of remote learning was just not an option. It is far different from the mode of in-person learning, and it cannot replace it either.

However, others have a different opinion of this and have mentioned that it is high time they make a decision regarding the mode of teaching and that the situation is not so good. There is a rise in the number of cases already, and if the schools decide to reopen, the cases will rise even more with high speed. In such a situation, one should not blame others and take the right decision of going back to remote learning.

The Mayor of Chicago mentioned that instead of going back to remote learning, they could ensure that all the students on the campus are vaccinated. Many teachers did not show up due to the fear of the spread of the virus.

But the mayor says that they will do their best, so the schools stay a safe place for the students as well as the teachers and other staff.

In his defense for in-person learning, he says that it is far better than remote learning and that the mental health of the students is affected highly due to remote learning. This also means that there will be no extracurricular activities for the students. Families of some students that are not so privileged and whose works involve not staying at home will be facing a lot of problems during these times.

Even Mayor Eric Adams did not allow to switch to remote learning.

The CTU does not agree with this and believes that the situation is not too good for in-person learning. It even made a note on the efforts taken for vaccinations by Mayor Lightfoot. If there are no necessary steps taken, then there would be a state of chaos for the teachers, students, and their families as well.
