The Covid cases in the US surge due to the widespread use of the Omicron variant since it was first detected in the State of California on 1st December 2021 and since that day the cases have started to grow. The state administrations are emphasizing the fact that there is a considerable need to acknowledge high-value patients who have more chances of getting severe infections. The medical agencies must focus on giving more emphasis on individual testing and urge more people to get tested and help the state to curb the cases.
Ladapo and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Monday briefed the citizens and stated focusing testing on high-value patients. In his briefing, the governor clearly stated the sort of testing mentality is having a drastic impact on every American. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, people are living and planning only around testing and it is affecting a lot of people in the country.
There is no doubt that every citizen has the right to make their decision on the vaccination as well as Covid testing and when they need it without any external interference. Many Surgeons in the country stated that many people do have natural immunity against the covid 19 virus and it is given an extra advantage if they receive the vaccination.
Florida is just next to California to cross 5 million cases since the inception of the virus in the US and the increase in the number of Covid cases has been taking Florida to the next level of panic. Also, the Health Department of Florida reported 2,98,000 new covid 19 cases and the maximum has been detected with the omicron version and as per the department, the positivity rate is revolving around 26.5% which has become a matter of concern for the complete state.
As per the public health department of Florida, due to the sudden rise in omicron Covid 19 cases, the State of Florida has been experiencing a shortage of testing supplies which is affecting a lot of patients. The Central Government has been in direct touch with the state to take effective measures to meet the testing needs and bridge the shortage of healthcare workers and medical supplies. The testing supplies in the US are controlled by the federal government.
Governor Ron Desantis, who is working closely with the White House Administration in order to reduce the gap between the medical supplies, also stated that there is a dire need to introduce new testing guidelines for the country. The new guideline will be majorly for the patients who possess a higher risk of infection.
The State needs to increase the vaccination rate so that more people are protected and keep their families safe and intact.
