The World Health Organization who announced the birth of the new variant of Covid 19, Omicron, on 24 November and termed it as the “Variants of Concern ” is again in news with a new claim about vaccine inequality created by the wealthy countries in the world.
WHO Accused Rich Nations Of Poor Vaccine Administration!
The Chief of the World Health Organization earlier also stated that the rich countries must help the poor nations by providing them either free vaccines or at a very nominal cost. It has been found that in some poor countries populations less than 15 percent are fully vaccinated and this level of inequality is unacceptable.

According to Tedros Adhanom, the year 2021 has been the worst year for the low-income nations and the unequal distribution of vaccination amongst the poor countries has been a breakdown moment for the world leaders.
Seeking the example of the latest omicron variant of the Covid 19 virus, he stated that the new strains will come up again and again if the rich countries won’t equally distribute the vaccine. The new variants are a major cause for the disruptions and also the birth of future strains in the world.
The rich nations are able to cope up with the economic losses and the new strains will again negatively affect the global economy if vaccine distribution is not done daily by the global leaders.
The WHO has also claimed that millions of jobs have been killed due to the unfair distribution of vaccines and the world won’t be able to recover if this will continue for a long time period.
The poor nations don’t have effective medical systems and the rich leaders of the world must contribute to allowing these nations to grow and have at least a health system to fight the covid 19 virus, Tedros started from the WHO headquarters.
He also said, if you ask me what is the biggest failure of 2021, I will only say unequal administration of vaccines for the low-income nations and not being able to help them in developing efficient healthcare arrangements.
According to the Chief of WHO, we are not able to achieve our target of vaccinating at least 40 percent of the population in every country and for this, more than 9 billion covid 19 vaccines were distributed by the various countries.
According to the sources even in the United States, more than 57 million people are yet to receive the vaccination. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has announced that around 64 percent of the population in the US has been fully vaccinated and 85 percent of citizens have received at least a single dose of vaccine.
Furthermore, around 35 percent of the eligible adults have received booster shots which have become mandatory to survive the wave and hospitalization. Many countries have now added booster shots in the vaccination drive to safeguard their population from the omicron variant.
