During the month of December, the CEO of Pfizer also stated that the vaccines are effective to handle severe illnesses but not as effective for the omicron strain.

As per the reports the vaccine manufacturers like Moderna are claiming that the effectiveness of the booster shots will fade away after some time and will be less efficient to fight against the new variants.
The CEO of Moderna, Stephane Bancel stated that the booster shot will also become inefficient just like the initial two doses of covid 19, and to fight the surge fourth dose will be required for the citizens. Currently, the booster shots have been recommended to everyone above 12 years of age in the country and the Biden Administration has made it mandatory for the Federal workers and healthcare personnel to mandatory receive the booster shots.
