The spread of the omicron variant across the US is one of the major concerns of President Biden’s administration. The need to bump up the vaccination rate is the prime objective and focus of the government currently.
The Supreme court Seems Convinced With The Vaccine Mandate Rule
As per the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, currently, around 36 percent of the American population is unvaccinated creating a higher level of risk for the vaccinated people in the US.

Also, the agency also released the data that around 34 percent of the eligible population has received the booster shots and this data seems less appreciable for the federal government. The booster shot is very important to instantly boost the immune system to fight better against the omicron strain.
Responding to the sudden increase in the number of Covid cases of the omicron variant, the Supreme court is taking efforts and considering the need for vaccination mandates and rules for certain sections.
The vaccination rate is not increasing at an expected rate and now the rising cases of the omicron variant have put the supreme court of the US under a lot of pressure to take some tough decisions and increase the vaccination percentage in the country.
During the month of September 2021, the Federal Government imposed a vaccine and testing mandate rule for the healthcare workers and for the large corporations with 100 or more employees working. President Biden and his team faced a huge backlash and some states filed a lawsuit against the Central Government.
Again in the month of December 2021, President Biden wrote an application to the Supreme court judge to remove the ban on the vaccine mandate rule, and permission was granted to Government to impose the vaccine mandate rule.
Now on Friday, the judges of the conservative-oriented court decided to analyze the situation and hear the arguments and opinions on the vaccination mandate rule by the White House Administration.
The whole objective of the meet was to find out the true need and requirement to enforce vaccination and testing mandates for employees and citizens. The introduction of the vaccination mandate was viewed as a threat to federalism.
There are certain legal challenges to the policies that are being introduced by the republican led state. The employers argued that this vaccine mandate rule is against their basic rights of choice and the State argued that it is a violation of their right to provide effective medical facilities to its citizens.
It must be noted that there has been no official statement or confirmation on the vaccination mandate rule and the final verdict from the high court will determine if the vaccination mandate will be introduced or not.
According to the data available, around 207 million Americans are fully vaccinated ( approximately 64 percent)
Many supporters of the vaccination mandate believe that keeping the rule on hold is likely to risk the lives of millions of citizens and health care workers in the United States. A vaccination mandate can prove to be a great step to safeguard the citizens from the deadly virus and will push the vaccination rate in the country.
