The Supreme Court Ruling Influences General Electric Co

Biden announced the testing and vaccination mandate rules for all the big companies. However, the Supreme Court’s verdict was not in its favor. As per the court’s decision, the Federal government does not have any authority to impose mandatory conditions on employers and employees. As a matter of fact, the companies are more willing to follow the Supreme Court than the government.

General Electric Co. already declared suspension of the vaccination after hearing such a verdict. It is not ready to accept Biden’s policy after SC blocked it for all the large businesses.

The conservative justices were always against the rule. According to them, such a mandate will obstruct the normal lives of Americans. Thus, it is improper to hamper the health of ordinary people with such decisions. The vaccine requirement must depend on the willingness of the individual. Therefore, it cannot be a mandatory federal ruling.

GE is one of the reputed companies in the US and sets the standards for many other companies like it. Therefore, specialists believe that this step of General Electric will profoundly impact the actions of many other companies.

With the Omicron variant covering almost the whole of America, many people are not ready to follow the new standard rules. People are still going out without masks, thus inviting the infection risks. Over 50% of the total US population did not go for vaccination. Moreover, many are not taking the booster shots also. Therefore, it is evident that the cases will continue to rise in the coming days.

Biden has already announced a supply of around one billion test kits to be delivered to every citizen. It is to reduce the burden from the hospitals. However, it is uncertain when all will get these kits. Besides, The President also declared a mandatory rule for large-sized companies. According to the rule, the employers must ensure that all the employees are jabbed with two doses of vaccines and one booster shot. If anybody fails to abide by his rule, there will be a penalty of around fourteen thousand dollars.

Many associate justices of the Supreme Court found this order to be an undue pressure over the common people. They are opining that wearing the masks is the wish of an individual. It cannot be a mandatory proposition. Such disturbances are already creating a lot of chaos all over the nation.

Biden is highly disheartened after hearing the court’s opinion. The people favoring the decision of the President understood the crisis and stated that it was nothing personal. Biden is only trying to save the country from this perilous situation. In the words of doctors, vaccination and testing are the key factors to prevent the spreading of Omicron. No other medicines are effective yet to cut short the number of patients coming to hospitals.

The large companies are, however, not willing to understand these terms. Just after the ruling of the Supreme Court, GE decided to suspend all the mandatory testings and vaccinations of COVID-19. The employers are thus not forcing the employers to attend the office or factory with masks and face shields. They can wear the same only if they feel like it. Moreover, the vaccination tests are not mandatory, either. Many fear the injections, and hence they are not willing to take the vaccine shots. The companies are absolutely okay with the decision of the employees.

Such a chaotic situation is not helping the country much. More and more people are getting hospitalized, breaking the previous year’s records also. The hospital beds are at the brink. Besides, the number of deaths is also increasing at a faster rate.
