Blood Tests – The Hope For ALS: Latest News!

Due to some malfunction of the body, some problem arises. As Gautam Buddha said, “Every human being is the author of his health or disease.” Various symptoms are the sources to detect any form of the disease. It is essential to treat the disease at the correct time. In Washington, researchers found that by a blood test, ALS detection is possible.

Blood Tests – The Hope For ALS: Latest News!

The ‘Scientific Reports Journal’ printed this report. ALS or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a nervous disease harmful to brain cells and spinal cord cells. In this disease, there is a loss of muscle strength. The University of Gothenburg and Umea University were involved in this research. The blood tests are examined thoroughly in this research.

Blood Tests - The Hope For ALS: Latest News!

Fani Pujol-Calderon from Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, and Arvin Behzadi from Umea University are eminent personalities to put much effort into this research. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is not easy to detect at an early phase. ALS is known as motor neuron disease. This disease causes a significant change in the human body after a certain period. Sometimes it is difficult to accept the nature of the disease. The medical condition may vary from person to person.

The present study of ALS shows much more accuracy. A protein named neurofilament holds a unique role. The neurofilaments prick in the cerebrospinal fluid when damage is detected in the nervous system. Some diseases bear a resemblance to ALS, which creates further complications. The blood in neurofilaments was the differentiation between ALS and other diseases.

The research took place in the Umea University and the Sahlgrenska University. This process did not work earlier because the blood was lower than cerebrospinal fluid. With time new approaches are coming forward due to development in medical science. The latest methods are more purposeful and involve the new scope of the study. Out of 287 patients, 234 had symptoms of ALS. In the University Hospital of Umea experiment was held.

Patients diagnosed with ALS contained more neurofilaments. Patients with ALS have more neurofilaments in blood and cerebrospinal fluid. There were some patients with different ALS. Patients with issues in the head and neck have more neurofilaments. Patients with these symptoms survive for less time. Through various experiments, the survival chance has increased. The quantity of blood level in neurofilament became the best solution for two mutations of ALS.

The new process of analyzing ALS is a new path in medical science. The scope for treating the patients gets high. Clinical drugs became more relevant in this type of treatment. Scientists worked hard to get a fruitful result. Scientists have questioned the treatment of ALS several times to get the ultimate solution.

Albert Einstein said, “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.” Arvin Behzadi claimed the sooner the medicine comes, the faster will be the treatment. The Neurology Department of University, Hospital of Umea played a significant role in Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Sometimes the cause of ALS is unknown. Genetics and environment do play a role in ALS. ALS is also known as neurodegenerative disease.

In this disease, the voluntary muscles stop working. The symptoms are muscles getting hard and an increase in weakness. Swallowing of food gets difficult and less speaking. As the pain increases, the possibility to move, talk, breathe decreases. Motor neuron loses strength. Slowly paralysis occurs, which ultimately leads to death. Within the period of two to four years, people die. Very few are blessed by Almighty to stay alive. There are different genetic mutations relatable to ALS. There is no treatment available that can treat the disease. The bitter truth is required to be accepted.
