Anthony Mackie appears to have discovered his next juicy role to delve into after recently being selected to be the future Captain America. As per Deadline, Mackie will star in and produce Twisted Metal, a live-action adaptation of the well-known computer game developed by Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions.
Sources say Sony TV and PlayStation Productions are very thrilled about the new series as they work out a strategy to introduce it to customers soon. Mackie will play John Doe in the half-hour live-action TV show.”We’re ecstatic to welcome Anthony Mackie to the team.” Asad Qizilbash, the head of PlayStation Productions, said, “His talent to merge comedy, action, and drama is appropriate for the Twisted world we’re developing.”
What We Can Expect In Peacock’s Twisted Metal
Twisted Metal is an action-comedy with high-octane quotients inspired by an original tale by Deadpool producers Rhett Reese as well as Paul Wernick about a motormouthed outsider who’s given a chance to live a better life in exchange for delivering an odd cargo in the post-apocalyptic wilderness.
He’ll take on ruthless robbers who drive vehicles that are destructive and the other hazards on the road, such as a demented clown operating an ice cream truck that is all too familiar and with the aid of an auto thief who is triggered.
Doe is a smart milkman who can speak as fast as driving. In the absence of any memory of his past, he’s granted a chance to realize his goal of finding community; however, only if he is able to survive enthralling vehicular combat.

Cast And Crew Of Twisted Metal
Michael Jonathan Smith, who created Cobra Kai, will write and executive produce the show. Executive producers will be designated the responsibility of Reese as well as Wernick. Will Arnett and Marc Forman will be executive producers along with Peter Principato/ArtistsFirst through their production company Electric Avenue. Mackie will be executive producing with his long-time managing partner Jason Spire from Inspire Entertainment, Qizilbash and Carter Swan (PlayStation Productions), as well as Hermen Hulst (president of PlayStation Studios).
Mackie has recently returned to his character for Sam Wilson/The Falcon in Disney+’s hit blockbuster The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which set a number of streaming records. Mackie has previously played Wilson in various Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, and the Avengers films.
He’ll also play Captain America in Captain America: Civil War. Other credits include Synchronic, Seberg, The Hurt Locker as well as Outside the Wire, which Spire and he co-produced. The Spire was created for Netflix.

Kitao Sakurai (who will also direct many episodes), Reese, Wernick, Will Arnett, and Marc Forman, through their Electric Entertainment firm, are executive producers alongside Mackie and writer Smith. Inspire Entertainment’s Jason Spire, Artists First’s Peter Principato, PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan, and Hermen Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios.
