Season 2 of The Umbrella Academy finished in 2021, and after years of waiting, we now want to go back in time to see season 3. But fear not, The Umbrella Academy Season 3 is soon here.
This season will introduce us to new siblings, a new house, and an alternate universe that we will be able to explore together. In this post, we’ve compiled all of the facts you need to know about The Umbrella Academy Season 3 into a handy little suitcase.
When We Can Expect The Release Of The Umbrella Academy Season 3
Finally, the long wait is over! Two years after The Umbrella Academy Season 2 finished, Netflix confirmed that The Umbrella Academy Season 3 would officially debut on the internet streaming service on June 22, 2022.
The Umbrella Academy Season 3 premieres on a Wednesday rather than a Friday, which is generally when Netflix debuts a new series. Some assume that Netflix decided because Stranger Things Season 4 will also debut on May 27, and the site does not want its two major programs vying for viewers’ attention.
Cast And Crew Of New Season
The original cast members of The Umbrella Academy are all back for Season 3. Tom Hopper will play Luther or Number 1, David Castaeda will play Diego or Number 2, and Emmy Raver-Lampman will play Allison or Number 3. Robert Sheehan will also reprise his role as Klaus (aka Number 4). Aidan Gallagher will play Number 5, and Elliot Page will play Vanya (Number 7).
Justin H. Min will also return, although not as the familiar Ben Hargreeves (aka Number 6). Is he a Brellies fan? Is he a Sparrow in full flight? The most recent news is that Ben is now Number 2 at Sparrow Academy, the Sparrow Academy’s counterpart to Diego in Umbrella Academy.
Colm Feore as Sir Reginald Hargreeves, Adam Godley as Pogo, and Jordan Claire Robbins as Grace Hargreeves or Mom are all expected to return, though these castings have yet to be confirmed. Ritu Arya may possibly return as Lila Pitts. However, this has yet to be confirmed. Javon Walton from Euphoria will also join as a new cast member, although his role remains unknown.
Plot Story
The conclusion of The Umbrella Academy Season 2 demonstrated how The Umbrella Academy was able to rescue the world (yet again). When our heroes returned home in 2019 after being taken to the 1960s, they discovered that the timelines had shifted and that home wasn’t quite what they left.
By the season finale, we find that Sir Reginald Hargreeves is alive in this universe and has created The Sparrow Academy instead of The Umbrella Academy by gathering six other children from the 43 born that one faithful day.
When Luther and his siblings arrived at the estate, they were surprised to be welcomed by their dead (but very much alive) surrogate father. Things worsen as a swarm of other supers surrounds Hargreeves, including a floating cube they name their brother and their very own Ben, who looks just like Ben, but something isn’t quite right. As with any dysfunctional family, the Umbrellas and Sparrows quarrel right away.

Season 2 ended with many unanswered questions, which we hope The Umbrella Academy Season 3 will address. Will the Umbrellas ever return to their reality? In this universe, who is Ben? Reginald Hargreeves is still alive. Will the Umbrellas and Sparrows learn to collaborate in order to preserve the world? And what is that floating cube, in the name of Pogo?
