In Ozark Season 2 Rachael manages to get a call out to Ruth to let her know that Nelson is on his way, and she takes him to the trailer’s roof to murder him. Ruth then buries Nelson’s corpse under the cement used to build the Langmore property’s future swimming pool. Ruth helps Rachel come to terms with the fact that she had to murder Nelson to move on from him.
A conference between Ruth and Rachel, the Byrdes drug cartel, the FBI, and the Navarro cartel is held later in the day to finalize an agreement. As a result of Roy Petty’s treatment of Rachel and her subsequent dependence on narcotics, Ruth firmly demands an apology from the FBI on Rachel’s behalf. As for Rachel, she’s OK with it. During the Byrde Foundation’s inaugural event, Rachel and Ruth say their last goodbyes to each other before she departs the casino.
