One of Marvel’s most anticipated projects Eternals may have received mixed reviews from critics, but that hasn’t stopped Marvel execs from greenlighting its sequel. Positive reports of Eternals 2 had come a long way since its release, as Marvel revealed two new characters, Harry Styles as Starfox and Patton Oswalt as Pip the Troll. Followed by the credit scene, a few recent comments caught our attention.

Chloe Zhao’s Eternals came out last year and featured a great cast including top actors like Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kit Harington, and Kumail Nanjiani, and others. And with the Eternal 2 now in preparation, they are expected to reprise their roles.

Patton Oswalt Reveals Eternals 2 Is Happening
After Marvel announced its Phase 5 and 6 programs at San Diego Comic-Con, for some reason, Eternals 2 did not appear on the list. But Marvel President Kevin Feige is pretty proud of Harry Styles’ future in the MCU. He added:
“We have street level with our announcement of Daredevil and of course Spidey, going into street heroes. And cosmic. And that’s where our friends Eros and Pip live.

After speaking to Al Roker on The Today Show, Patton Oswalt revealed the sequel and even confirmed that Chloe Zhao is open to returning for the sequel..
“They announced that there will be a sequel to Eternals, Chloe Zhao is going to direct it. So hopefully there will be more Starfox and Pip adventures.

Eternals 2 will be directed by Chloe Zhao
Moreover, Chloe Zhao is one of the most talented directors in Hollywood. Just before the Eternals film was released, she won the Oscar for Best Director and Best Picture for Nomadland. His film was also nominated for Best Screenplay and Best Editing.

After such reports, it looks like Chloe Zhao will be making a return to the MCU and directing the next Eternals movie for Marvel. I think there are a lot more plans that need to be declared for these next two phases in the MCU. And Eternals 2 seems to be one of them.
Eternals 2 will be released in November 2024.
