Following Ryan Gosling’s revelation that he would like to play Ghost Rider in the MCU, a startling new concept shows him reprising the role of the Spirit of Vengeance from Nicolas Cage.
Johnny Blaze, Marvel’s original Ghost Rider, first appeared on the big screen in 2007. ghost rider, with Nicolas Cage in the title role. Cage appeared in two films as the Spirit of Vengeance, before the character was rebooted for Marvel. Agents of SHIELDwhich introduced the Robbie Reyes version of the character to the MCU.
Agents of SHIELD offered a brief look at Johnny Blaze from the MCU, but only in his Ghost Rider form. This leaves the door open for a new actor to portray Blaze in a future Marvel project. Ryan Gosling recently revealed that Ghost Rider is the Marvel hero he would most like to play.
Following Ryan Gosling naming Ghost Rider his first choice for the Marvel role, a new concept artist “clements.ink” on Instagram has revealed what Gosling might look like as Nic Cage’s replacement for the role.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige seems to be on board with the idea. Asked about Ryan Gosling’s comments on Ghost Rider at San Diego Comic-Con, Feige replied, “Ryan is amazing. I would love to find a place for him in the MCU. Looks like there could be hope for the star of The gray man to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Spirit of Vengeance on a motorcycle.

Ryan Gosling has already mixed with MCU royalty for his latest film, The gray man. He appears alongside Marvel Studios’ Captain America star Chris Evans and the film is directed by avengers veterans Joe and Anthony Russo. Here is the official synopsis:
“THE GRAY MAN is CIA agent Court Gentry (Ryan Gosling), aka Sierra Six. Snatched from a federal penitentiary and recruited by his master, Donald Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton), Gentry was once a death dealer highly trained and sanctioned by the Agency.But now the tables have turned and Six is the target, hunted across the world by Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), a former CIA henchman, who will stop at nothing for the Agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas) has his back, he’ll need it.
