Breonna Taylor was a 26-year-old black medical worker who was shot and killed in a police raid on an apartment where she was sleeping on March 13, 2020.
Louisville officers knocked on Taylor’s door while executing a search warrant; when her boyfriend fired a shot that hit an officer, officers returned fire, hitting the victim multiple times.
The 26-year-old’s fatal shooting contributed to the racial justice protests that rocked the United States in the summer and spring of 2020. The doctor should have been alive today and living everyday life like any other individual if only the officer had done so. Don’t fire multiple shots.
Brett Hankison was one of the officers who fired ten bullets into Breonna’s two-bedroom apartment, and some of the bullets flew into a neighbor’s apartment and nearly stroked another man, according to AP News. Our hearts go out to Taylor’s family for the unbearable loss she had to endure, and may her deceased soul rest peacefully in heaven.
However, this is a developing story, and further updates will be made when more information on the case becomes available.
