The strategic implementation of the future of DC by David Zaslav, the new CEO and president of Warner Bros. Discovery, has made many unfortunate changes to ongoing projects at the studio. Three were shut down in their pre-production and launch stages. One of them, bat girlreceived massive fan criticism and profanity online regarding its cancellation.

However, it adds to an even more dangerous precedent as future DC movies, like super girl and batman 2 could now risk being sidelined indefinitely by the new DC leader. The DC Extended Universe currently only includes 3 predictable films slated for final release, but fans are growing increasingly wary about the future of the superhero franchise.

WB Discovery puts future DC projects at an impasse
The CEO of WB Discovery recently announced his new vision for DC and it’s something that reflects Marvel Studios’ long-term strategy. Zaslav asserts that there will now be a “10-year plan focusing only on DC” and the brand’s main characters, namely Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, will be at the heart of its plans after the radical change within the franchise.

However, this now puts the plans that are currently underway res media at the risk of never seeing the light of day. On the one hand, the projects that now connect the existing DC to Zaslav’s future are caught in the crosshairs, and given that David Zaslav does not hesitate to delete completed projects, Sasha Calle’s next project super girl spin-off and Matt Reeves batman 2 make fans uneasy with every passing announcement.

David Zaslav’s New Direction For DC Makes A Sea Change
One of the major decisions made as a result of the WarnerMedia and Discovery merger was the cancellation of all exclusive and direct-to-air projects DC has done in association with HBO Max. However, finding no “its economic value”Zaslav has decided to adopt a theatrical release model for future DC films.

The new DC Universe in the absence of Snyder’s Superman and Batman, played by Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck respectively, has gone tougher with their cameos. It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to imagine a rebooted universe where DC characters are played by recast actors. There have been theories that backed Batgirl, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman to lead DC in the absence of their male counterparts.

But hypothetical analogies aside, since Matt Reeves The Batman was produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, movies such as batman 2 who don’t belong to a definitive DC Extended Universe faction but fall under the umbrella corporation run by Zaslav might not live to see the light of day.
