Felicia Taylor: Who is she? Former CNN presenter reportedly hit and ran after being jailed

Felicia Taylor, a former CNN anchor, was recently arrested in Palm Beach on suspicion of hit-and-run. She was charged on July 28 after allegedly hitting another car, injuring the driver, and then escaping the scene of the collision, according to Palm Beach police.

The retired journalist has apparently refuted the allegations, but according to official accounts, Taylor collided with another car while he was stopped. According to the statement Page Six obtained:

“The white Mercedes hit his car from behind. Multiple injury complaints have resulted from [him] hitting the steering wheel following the incident.

According to the report, Taylor was spotted driving away from the crash site in her Mercedes “without stopping to offer assistance or provide information.” She was reportedly seen driving to the crash site twice without stopping, officials said.

Taylor reportedly claimed she didn’t stop at the scene of the collision because she didn’t realize ‘there was something to worry about’ and that she ‘wanted the other person’s injuries driver are proven”.

The TV celebrity was arrested shortly after the collision by a police officer, who claimed Taylor had admitted to being involved in the collision and that “the other motorist was ‘fine'”. The former presenter wanted to go home, the officer added, adding that the incident was “not a big deal”.

The officer went on to say:

“Taylor first claimed to be at a restaurant on Worth Avenue before changing her story to say she was at a venue in Royal Poinciana Plaza. No restaurant that remembers Taylor as a customer could be found.
Additionally, she said she was from The Colony hotel, but did not comment when staff informed her that the hotel was closed.

Taylor also clarified that she did not drive while intoxicated and did not use any prescription drugs. The policeman said he did not detect alcohol on the former presenter.

Additionally, Page Six said the injured driver of the other car received medical treatment at the scene for jaw, head, neck and back pain. Felicia Taylor was confirmed unharmed during a medical examination.

Reportedly, Taylor was arrested at the Palm Beach County Jail and charged with reckless driving and fleeing the scene of a personal injury accident. She initially pleaded not guilty to the charges and was later released on $3,000 bond.

Police reportedly took Taylor’s automobile and found a bottle of white wine inside, authorities said. According to reports, the bottle was “three-quarters full” and was also “three-quarters full” of a “silver thermos” which contained an “unknown alcoholic beverage”.

Officials said the two drinks were put “out of the driver’s reach” and behind the passenger seat.

Former American presenter Felicia Taylor worked as a correspondent for World Business Today on CNN International. She is credited as the former co-host of Retirement Living TV’s Daily Cafe in addition to her contribution to CNN’s Business Updates segment.

On August 28, 1964, she was born to well-known actor Rod Taylor and his second wife, a model named Mary Hilem. Taylor was adopted by her mother’s second husband, Arthur Rubloff, after her parents divorced.

After Rubloff’s death, Hilem married real estate developer Lewis M. Schott, who also accepted Taylor into his family. At Northwestern University, the former presenter earned a Bachelor of Arts.

Before beginning her tenure as weekend anchor at WNBC-TV in 1998, she previously worked in London for Financial Times TV. Felicia Taylor began working as a business news anchor and correspondent for CNBC in 2006 after leaving her job at WNBC.
