Gal Gadot Reportedly Returning As Wonder Woman For Upcoming DCEU Films

Gal Gadot is reportedly back to play Wonder Woman in the upcoming DCEU movies.

DCEU fans are often in a state of uncertainty about where the franchise is headed right now. While the past few years have given them movies (and an HBO Max series) that have been fairly well received by critics, the constant regime changes have caused behind-the-scenes drama and the recent cancellation of bat girl left fan morale quite low this week. However, fans should expect to see Gal Gadot return as Wonder Woman not only in a third standalone film, but in future films as well.

Heroic Hollywood Founder and Editor-in-Chief Umberto Gonzalez took to a Twitter space with Erik Davis to discuss the near future of DC Films, specifically the DCEU as it relates to plans for certain films and characters. When asked about Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Gonzalez said fans shouldn’t have to worry about her stepping down from the role of Diana Prince anytime soon:

“Oh yeah, sure. She’s in a few other movies, and I’m not going to spoil them… She’s also in a couple other movies, right now, that are due out. She’s a team player, so I think she’s going to be around for a while, I think it’s safe to say.

If Gal Gadot has already filmed scenes for the upcoming DCEU movies that are already filming, that leaves five options: Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Flash, and Blue beetle. If I had to bet, it would make sense to see Wonder Woman appear in both Shazam! Fury of the gods and The flash. About the Shazam! sequel, actress Rachel Zegler teased the possibility of Gadot appearing in that film, while an appearance for the actress in the flash would make sense, given its connection to Justice League members Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Barry Allen (Ezra Miller).

Here is the synopsis of the DCEU movie, Wonder Woman 1984:

Patty Jenkins returns to direct the next chapter of the story, which finds Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) living and working among mortals, remaining selfless in a vibrant age of excess and “having it all”. But her own values are challenged as she reunites with a lost love while stepping into the spotlight to help humanity escape a dangerous world she created. Also starring Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen.

Directed by Patty Jenkins from a screenplay she co-wrote with David Callaham and a treatment she developed with Geoff Johns, the DCEU film stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Connie Nielson, and Robin Wright.
