The current screentime for Amber Heard in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom may have been revealed.
All eyes are on the future of the DC Extended Universe right now. These days, it seems like the franchise is getting a lot of negative press due to a lot of regime changes as well as some offbeat drama regarding some of the talent involved in their movies. An example concerns actress Amber Heard and her future as Mera in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Amber Heard has been embroiled in controversy and is viewed quite negatively by the court of public opinion following her defamation lawsuit with ex-husband Johnny Depp. She ended up losing the lawsuit, and that result led to speculation about how Warner Bros. Pictures may update her role in the upcoming Aquaman sequel, in which she would have a smaller role compared to the predecessor.
Heroic Hollywood founder and editor Umberto Gonzalez took part in a Twitter space with Erik Davis to discuss the future of DC Films after the cancellation of bat girl and was asked about updates regarding the Aquaman sequel and where Amber Heard’s screentime is currently:
Erik Davis: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, I heard it was over too… And whatever Amber Heard is in it, that’s what you get. I don’t know if you know more about it, if they try to take a few steps there, but from what I heard that movie is over and I heard it was awesome too.
Umberto Gonzalez: Yes, it is. She is still part of it. They’re not just going to like it, they’re going to erase it outright either. She’s barely in the movie. She’s been in it for like, according to one of my sources, she’s been in it for about 20 minutes or so. I don’t know if it stays or if it increases or if it decreases… Anything can happen between now and the release of the film, so yes.
