Robinson, who is the director of the next Netflix movie Revenge featuring Maya Hawke, Camila Mendes and Austin Abrams, expressed his respect for Waititi’s craftsmanship, his “reverence” for MCU, how the movie’s villain, Gorr’s character was shaped and constructed, and how they addressed emotional parallelism in the movie.

The 34-year-old director pointed out how much the Marvel Cinematic Universe really means to her and how writing dialogue for all the characters she loves was a surreal experience. While working with Taika Waititi, Robinson was looking for parallelism in already existing MCU films. When asked how the couple brought James Gunn guardians of the galaxy canon elements in the world of love and thunder, here’s what she had to say:

“So that Taika and I can say, ‘What are the parallels between these characters? What did James Gunn create? What did Taika create? Where are the parallels? and how to bring that out and use it to tap into the emotionality of this story.

In the film, we saw the character of Peter Quill express his feelings for Gamora and how he resonated with it, but also bring up a heartbroken Thor who was afraid of losing those he loves. Quill has been seen saying that it’s better to feel bad when you lose someone than to feel empty. According to Robinson, this was a key aspect:

“Looking at everything Thor has lost and everything Quill has lost, there’s a lot of overlap there. It felt like a natural place for Quill to be that voice in Thor’s head that can push him towards his arc for the movie.

Speaking of Waititi and his work on the film, Robinson could only commend his efforts. From crafting Gorr, who is a tragic yet fearsome villain, into a world that suits Waititi’s fun and comedic storytelling style, to the idea of the Korg-narrated montage featuring Thor and Jane Foster, the director has it all. do. “Taika’s Magic,” as Robinson claims.

Asked about the amount of work and effort that went into the Mighty Thor taglines, Robinson pointed out that they would rewrite the script almost every day. Apparently, this process mainly involved the writer walking around with his laptop and constantly typing things. Here is how she explained the situation:

“It was a lot of me running around with a laptop, typing things and listening. ‘Does it work?’ Carrying a computer and thinking, ‘I think I wrote what you wanted?’ »

Seems like it was a case of trial and error. The screenwriter also said that the whole experience made love and thunder evolve into a very, very expensive independent run and gun film. As exhausting as the work might have been, Robinson said everyone was collaborating on it, as the film involved a team where everyone had a voice.

Whereas Revenge can be streamed on Netflix on September 16, 2022, Thor: Love and Thunder was released in theaters.
